84th Annual Academy Awards Best Dressed

Tonight's red carpet was filled with glamour! Overall, the rich and famous looked very classy and conservative. I did notice quite a few were rocking the strapless look showing off their collar bone. There wasn't really a dress I absolutely hated but I wasn't a fan of Sandra Bullocks Marchesa's dress:(
Here are my favorite that I saw when watching the red carpet show:
Natalie Portman wearing a vintage Haute Couture Vintage Christian Dior from 1954 (awesome!)
Kara Mara (from 127 Hours and Iron Man 2) in Jack Guisso Haute Couture
Michelle Williams in her usual popping red Louis Vuitton gown with a peplum waist
Rooney Mara (Girl With a Dragon Tattoo) wearing Givenchy
Jessica Chastian wearing Alexander McQueen (hand-embroidered) MY FAVORITE
Angelina Jolie looking stunning in a black velvet Atelier Versace
Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids and SNL) wearing J. Mendel

Get Olivia Palermo’s London Fashion Week Style

During London’s Autumn/Winter 2012 fashion week, Olivia Palermo showed up at Topshop’s show looking trend fabulous. She rocked an Armani jacket with a yellow blouse and floral pants, both from Topshop. She accessorized with Mulberry animal printed shoes, a Meli Melo “Olivia” bag and a BCBG Max Azria belt. As a fashion innovator Olivia really pulled together a daring but amazing outfit that might be hard to match. I found myself an outfit that is similar to hers but with a touch of my style:

Burberry Prorsum Womenswear Autumn/Winter 2012 show

Burberry shows are literally the spark to London fashion weeks. With Burberry's 156 year old rich heritage and its excellent evolution each season its hard not to get so excited. I was so mad when I missed the live version of the show because I was in Retail Analysis class (I told my teacher to let us watch it... the answer was no) but thankfully Burberry posted the show this evening for me to watch and share with you all.
Burberry stuck with a British Heritage where you are able to see the evolution of the trench coat. You can see the bellow pockets that were added to many of the trenches and the peplum bottoms at the waist. A lot of heathered grey pencil skirts were put in the ensembles with the bellow pockets and were all belted at the waist line.
Christopher Bailey, the creative director of Burberry Prorsum, did a absolutely magnificent job with the presentation of the show! If you aren't one to watch all of the show you MUST fast forward to about 14:20 to watch the next two minutes. You'll see model Cara Delevingne (in the Burberry S/S 2012 campaign ads with Eddie Redmayne... who you can see in the front row) walk down in her deep plum coat. To finish there is a slight pause before you hear thunder and see rain start to fall down the glass walls. The models then do their final line up with umbrellas and one of my favorite songs playing!
Here is the song list:
It Could Have Been Better - John Armatrading
Walls - Rae Morris
Numb - Marina and the Diamonds
To Build a Home - The Cinematic Orchestra

Mulberry's Flashy Front Row at Fashion Week

Yesterday on the 19th, Mulberry took the catwalk in London with a wild theme of "Down in the forest something stirred". From fur coats to multi-layered pieces Emma Hill took a turn for the wild side. There were lots of navy, teals, and pumpkin tones throughout the show adding life to the garments with lace and bra top dresses. Mulberry's front row was said to be one of the best so lets take a look at what the fashion A-list wore to the show...

Stella McCartney's Black Tie Event During Fashion Week

So much is happening in London this summer, one of which is the 2012 summer Olympics! Stella McCartney is actually the creative director of adidas team GB, designing all of the uniforms for Great Britain's athletic team. This event was to celebrate, and what a better time to do it then in the middle of London Fashion Week where she can reel in all of the celebrities. The best part of the night was when there was a dance performance including models Harlow and Valletta. There were also fun performances such as Alexa Chung helping out on a magic trick.
Amber Valletta, Mario Testino, and Shalom Harlow
Bianca Jagger
Kate Moss

Vogue Cover March 2012 With Adele

I was so happy when I saw that the Vogue cover for March was Adele! Not only did she sweep all of the music industry for 2011 but she is absolutely beautiful. I would love to see her become more of a fashion icon with her growing career. In her article she speaks of her path of voice troubles and overcoming that huge bump in the road in her career. What I love most about her is her outgoing personality which she speaks of as well.
Here are some shoots of her cover story...

2012 54th Grammy Awards Best Dressed

There is no doubt that the red carpet was filled with some lovely dresses last night. This year I saw a turn for the better when the rich and famous really stuck to glamorous, classy looks (for the most part). Sparkling dress really stuck out on the carpet, along with beautiful silhouettes and trains on the dresses. Although some disagreed with me in class today I thought overall with the performances and outfits the 54th Grammy Awards will be one to remember.
There's no doubt that Adele took over the Grammy's last night; looking ever so stunning in her Stella McCartney
I knew I would see an Elie Saab 2012 Haute Couture on the carpet! Love it.
Ah I love this silhouette on her - Stella McCartney
Rihanna in Armani with Christian Louboutin shoes (in LOVE) and a Jimmy Choo clutch
She wore Neil Lane jewelry with a Jacquie Aiche body necklace

Jason Wu's Ready-to-Wear Fall 2012

There wasn't much guessing when looking at Jason's overall theme for fall. As Jason says, "An Asian person doing an Asian collection. It's a revolution." When looking through the collection you can tell in consecutive order of how he goes through Asia. It starts with the Mao military, then the Qing dynasty and lastly the Forties Hollywood glamour of "Shanghai Express." You can tell the effort he put forth on the collection which makes it hard not to love it.
