September Favorites

September 2012 Favorites

1. Spring 2013 Fashion Shows are beginning! Starting with New York from September 6-13, London is the 14th-18, Milan the 19-25, and Paris the 25th to October 3rd. I can't wait to watch all the shows and see the trends for Spring 2013.
2. Coach's New Legacy Collection - In early August Coach launched a new collection and I am finally seeing it hitting the streets. One my of favorite things about the new collection is the duffle bag that can be custom designed with different colors. Usually I am one to walk past the Coach store but I really like the new accessories and clothing so be sure to take a stroll in there yourself. Coach Website
3. Tweed Jackets and Loose Knit Sweater - Already I have seen tweed jackets everywhere along with knit sweaters. Although I most likely won't be able to wear a heavy tweed jacket in Florida this winter I am already stacking up on my loose knit sweaters. Above is an Alexander Wang jacket for $1050 and an All Saints knit sweater for $150
4. Jennifer Fisher FNO Bracelet - Fashion Night Out is another hot event for the industry in September. This is the fourth year where celebrities, designers, editors, and models storm stores around the world to celebrate the greatness of fashion!
5. Oscar de la Renta's Limited Edition Nail Colors -After much anticipation after his fall show in February, Oscar has finally released the nail colors. The three colors consist of Red carnation, Aubergine, and Larimar. But hurry fast there are only 700 available for $22 each. Get the polish here!
6. Liberal Arts in Theaters September 14th - Considering how much I love Elizabeth Olsen and Josh Radnor from How I Met Your Mother, I cannot wait for this movie. Josh's character, Jesse Fisher, gets a new look on life after returning to his college to speak and meeting Elizabeth's character, Zibby. It looks like a great film with romance and with Josh Radnor in it, I can count on it being comedic as well!
7. Bring Out Your Booties! The trend of boots is continuing and I love it! This season I am loving every type of boot out there. The shoes above are a pair of Miu Miu boots of Net-A-Porter for $750. Even though that is far out of my price range there are plenty around town to satisfy anyone. For lower price, quality boots try TopShopSteve MaddenNasty Gal
8. National Chocolate Milkshake Day - Besides Labor Day of course, this is my favorite holiday in September! On September 12th, you can find me at my local diner slurping down a nice BIG chocolate milkshake.

Karlie Kloss Joining Team USA?

With the summer Olympics kicking of in London at the end of July, Vogue had some of the hottest male athletes come and pair up with model Karlie Kloss for the June 2012 cover story. Vogue interviewed each one of the athletes about their prospects for the upcoming months. Photographer Annie Leibovitz did such a fantastic job capturing what fashion editor Tone Goodman put together for Karlie Kloss and the athletes.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the shoot including the cover:
Soccer player Hope Solo, swimmer Ryan Lochte, and tennis player Serena Williams
Karlie Kloss in a Vera Wang silk organza and tulle dress with a Jitrois corset belt
Karlie Kloss wearing Victoria Beckham with Gymnast Jonathan Horton in Adidas pants
Karlie Kloss wearing a Oscar de la Renta pleated dress with track and field athlete Ashton Eaton in Nike shorts
Karlie Kloss in a Stella McCartney (gold lame fabric) with swimmer Ryan Lochte
Karlie Kloss in a beautifully draped Haider Ackermann top and skirt with silk-mousseline fabric; Ryan Lochte wearing Speedo USA bottoms
Karlie Kloss in a Versace suit with Swarovski Elements and the Bryan brothers are both wearing K-Swiss shirts and shorts
Karlie Kloss in a fabulous Alexander McQueen silver-sequined dress, embroidered mask and platform sandals with the Bryan brothers
Karlie Kloss in a Oscar de la Renta sequined guipure lace dress with Manolo Blahnik pumps; Dwayne Wade who is on the USA basketball team is wearing Jordan shorts and shoes

Cara Delevingne in All Her Glory

This seasons most seen model on the runway and my personal favorite is Cara Delevingne. Ever since I saw her in the Burberry Prorsum S/S 2012 Ads I adored her. Coming from London she has her own rock-n-roll style that makes her wear clothes well. As Rosie Vogel says,
"She's not your typical model in that she's not the standard 5"11- but then neither's Kate Moss. But what she lacks in inches, she makes up for in confidence. She's unique - she has a wonderful versatility to her and a great personality, which is crucial. She's really lively and dynamic and still feels very modern. I like that she has those heavy brows - it adds something very different."
She walked in this season's greatest shows all over the world, which is great for this British lad's career at age 19.
Here are some of my favorite runway walk from her this season:
Chanel during Paris Fashion Week
Burberry Prorsum during London Fashion Week
Paul & Joe during Paris Fashion Week
Rag&Bone during New York Fashion Week
Blumarine during Milan Fashion Week (this collection was outrageous in a bling-tastic kind of way)
Oscar de la Renta during New York Fashion Week
Thakoon during New York Fashion Week
Jason Wu during New York Fashion Week

Emmy's 2011 Red Carpet

So this year on the Emmy's red carpet, it was glamorous as always. But a biggie for me was how they put together the outfit as a whole. I loved a lot of dresses but the hair or the jewelry is what threw it off for me, such as Evan Rachel (her hair made her look SO manly). And I swear some people didn't even get their make-up and hair done, such as Maria Bello! I am rarely rude about these types of things, but I feel like the Emmy's are held to a very classy, high elegance level. But these are the girls that won me over! From the make-up and hair, to the jewelry and dress these girls had it all in my opinion!

Minka Kelly in Christian Dior and Tiffany & Co Jewels
Nina Dobrev wearing Donna Karan with Neil Lane jewels
