Elie Saab Paris Spring Couture 2012

Elie Saab's Spring Couture collection blew me away! I was so in love with the colors and cuts he used. Like most people know, Elie Saab is known for those red carpet gowns. With using flower prints and embellishments he definitely steered the wheel away from that path a bit. From white and champagnes to blue, yellow, salmons, and pinks he hit the color palette with light intentions... and I like it!
He did a couple above the knee cuts
Sexy and sleek to perfection
He did many sheer tones up top
Love this light salmon color
I want to see this on the red carpet!
Not a yellow person, but I love the long over coat
I love this silhouette
Finale gown!

Atelier Versace Spring Couture 2012

The opening show this year for Paris' Summer/Spring Haute couture week was surprisingly Versace. After many years of not doing a spring couture show I was expecting some stunning, out of this world couture dresses. Although not all were a let down I was shocked with some of the dresses she went with. After seeing Angelina Jolie on the red carpet for the Golden Globes in a $80,000 Versace dress I was expecting the best of the best. These couture outfits are for women around the world who can afford them for one time red carpet events. There were a lot of silvers and golds along with citrus colors to add for a spring look. As to be expected she took a time era of corsets and added a futuristic look to it. The models rocked it in their pin straight hair in the French capital and certainly did wow a lot of people.
Here are some looks from the show:
This is one of my favorites, the drape is amazing
I love those shorts and shoes
Although this is a tough color to wear I love the fit and cut. You also get a could view of  the shoes.
I can't see many women wanting to wear this color : /
I love the shape and cut of this dress, I would love to see this on the red carpet
This dress has a gorgeous mixture of silver and gold. I love the top but the structural hip is controversial

The J.N.D in Jeans

This week in my Consumers in a Common Marketplace class we talked about J.N.D (Just Noticeable Difference). We discussed what it takes for consumers to buy one item instead of another item that it almost the same thing. You may remember me speaking about my jean obsession at one point on my website, so when the teacher talked about the J.N.D in jeans in class I was so excited! So in turn I wanted to ask you blog readers how you felt about as well. Why do you purchase, let say, 7 For All Mankind jeans for $189 instead of, lets say, Gap jeans for $69.95? Lets take a look and compare some jeans of the same style to prices:

Above are the 7 For All Mankind jeans priced at $189. When looking at this picture  you have to ignore the model completely sticking out her bottom to make it look like she fills out the jeans, but besides that I love this cut and color; it's perfect for day wear. The differences on these jeans are that they are made in the USA and the inseams are an inch of a difference.

Above are the 1969 Gap mid-weight always skinny jeans priced at $69.95. These jeans are imported unlike the Sevens, but that is really the only difference.

Overall, these jeans are very similar in the way they are made. Interesting enough a girl raised her hand in class and spoke of how many of her customers (she works at 7 For All Mankind) are loyal customers there because they are an all American made jean. When Seven tried to produce some in Mexico they lost customers and returned to a true American jean again. However they both are a shade of indigo wash, they are both 98% cotton and 2% spandex, and they both are a slim fit. Yes, you might be looking for a certain shade of wash, or you like the little destroyed mark Seven added to those jeans, but in the long run why are you always running to high end stores to purchase jeans? Don't worry, I can't even answer these questions... there is no explanation to my hangers and hangers of designer jeans, but its food for thought right?

Beautiful Valentino Accessories

When some people think of Valentino they only think of his beautiful, luxurious clothes. But what I love about Valentino the most is that his accessories never fail to exceed my expectations. For his S/S 2012 collection the accessories were filled with rock star studs and lace looks. Here is a look at some of my favorite accessories for this collection:

23rd Palm Springs Film Festival

At the 23rd Palm Springs Film Festival many stars were in their best attire including Angelina and Brad. Brad Pitt showed up wearing a Versace suit from the 2012 collection. Now, many people are saying that Brad looks like he's aging well but I don't know if I completely agree, especially with that cane. According to him, he was injured holding his daughter Vivienne while falling down a ski slope, OUCH. But more importantly, Angelina looks beautiful as always wearing a elegant Elie Saab dress with Jimmy Choo shoes. Brad Pitt ended up taking home the Desert Palm Achievement Award in acting.
Here is a picture of the two and there is more of my favorite dresses below:

Below shows a picture of Charlize Theron in Lanvin. I love the shoulder pads!

Next is Michelle Williams looking as cute as always in Prada. The dress goes perfectly with her hair.

My last pick of the night would have to be Olivia Wilde's perfectly fit Monique Lhuiller dress.
