Jason Wu RTW Spring 2013

New York Fashion Week has been full of some great trends already for Spring 2013. One of my favorite shows so far was Jason Wu's S&M catwalk. Starting off the catwalk with vintage model Carolyn Murphy, you knew right away there was inspiration behind this collection. If you ever have seen photographs from Helmut Newton, a German-Australian photographer, you would know that was Jason Wu's inspiration. From leather to lace, Jason showed off his more sophisticated side. I am possibly in love with the cigarette trousers and the ballgowns at the end! Cara Delevingne in All Her Glory

This seasons most seen model on the runway and my personal favorite is Cara Delevingne. Ever since I saw her in the Burberry Prorsum S/S 2012 Ads I adored her. Coming from London she has her own rock-n-roll style that makes her wear clothes well. As Rosie Vogel says, 

     "She's not your typical model in that she's not the standard 5"11- but then neither's Kate Moss. But what she lacks in inches, she makes up for in confidence. She's unique - she has a wonderful versatility to her and a great personality, which is crucial. She's really lively and dynamic and still feels very modern. I like that she has those heavy brows - it adds something very different."

She walked in this season's greatest shows all over the world, which is great for this British lad's career at age 19.

Jason Wu's Ready-to-Wear Fall 2012

There wasn't much guessing when looking at Jason's overall theme for fall. As Jason says, "An Asian person doing an Asian collection. It's a revolution." When looking through the collection you can tell in consecutive order of how he goes through Asia. It starts with the Mao military, then the Qing dynasty and lastly the Forties Hollywood glamour of "Shanghai Express." You can tell the effort he put forth on the collection which makes it hard not to love it.

Since Michelle Obama inauguration dress I've been waiting for Jason Wu's next move. Well here we have it ladies and gentleman! After Missoni for Target I knew it was only a matter of time before the next big luxury designer moved in. Releasing February 5th through March 6th you'll have the lucky chance to own something Jason Wu designed. Starting prices are $19.99 and go up to $59.99... not too shabby right?
